Flow & Grow: Südstadt Yoga meets Schillerviertel

We hosted the first Mini Creative Yoga Festival in Kassel! On Sunday, July 18, we made the courtyard in front of our studio on the grounds of the KreativFabrik chic and invited to a relaxing day of yoga, music and art.

Yoga classes, a sound-healing sound journey and a pranayama breathing workshop were offered by Südstadt Yoga. Between Buddha and flower garland, about 30 people relaxed per class.

Together with Buchkinder Kassel e.V., the Schlachthof initiative “Hier im Quartier” set up a participatory art box, which was used enthusiastically throughout the day.

ZI Zeicheninstitut, means artists Reinhold Weber and Henning Lutze, painted a wall freely and intuitively, while the artist Jonas Leichsenring painted the courtyard with a fixed concept: Given the context of the day, the lettering “MAL GANZ RUHIG” which means something like “Just (paint in) peace” has some possible interpretations.

The guided tour of KolorCubes through the Public Art Gallery went more into the theory of artistic design – interested visitors learned all about the processes of neighborhood development through art in public space in the Schillerviertel.

The Unity Shop in our backyard was open especially for us – here our visitors could stock up on cans, markers, t-shirts and skate merchandise.

Music producer, cultural multiplier and DJ Andreas Störmer aka E-OMA played a live electronic set throughout the day and always ensured just the right mood.

Thanks to the organic restaurant Weissenstein and the creative brewery Steckenpferd, our guests were well supplied with delicious food and cool drinks.
To all participants, partners and especially to the visitors also a big THANK YOU. See you next time..
